Longton Rugby are Staffordshire's top placed senior rugby club, playing in National Three Midlands. The Club's highlights include promotion to what would have been National Two for the 2003/4 season, and winning the Staffordshire Cup on seven occasions.
Longton Rugby has recently relocated to a new 20 acre site at Trentham Fields, near to the Britannia Stadium, in Stoke-on-Trent, which comprises 2 senior pitches and 2 junior pitches as well as training areas and a football pitch. The main rugby pitch and the training areas are floodlit. In addition, we have a 60m x 40m floodlit, 3rd generation artifical turf pitch (ATP).
Terry Keeling, President of Longton Rugby comments "We have a commitment to be the premier community sports club in Stoke, hence other clubs are now renting facilities at Trentham Fields from us."
Phil Myatt, Chairman of Longton Rugby adds "We are making rapid strides in our aim to become a multi-sports complex with the ATP, men's and ladies soccer and the North Staffordshire Centre for Disabled Sport. Plus, of course, senior, junior and ladies rugby. There is still much to do to make the site as a whole into a well-appointed, eye catching sporting arena, but in our wonderful Clubhouse we have the central feature."
Of the 2012/13 season Phil comments, "We enter a new season in National Three Midlands with renewed spirit and sincerely hope that with our great coaching set-up and player-base, we can be pushing for promotion at the end of the season."
On behalf of Longton Rugby, Terry and Phil would like to extend a warm welcome to all players, officials and spectators during the forthcoming season and trust that you will enjoy our facilities and our hospitality at Trentham Fields.
