Junior Rugby
Junior Section
Longton Rugby has a thriving Mini section for 7 to 12 year olds.
Our 7 to 12 year olds play a mixture of Tag Rugby, which is non-contact, and also some full-contact Rugby. Both of these activities are designed to be fun, whilst learning the basics of the game and building confidence, self-esteem and team-work.
Tag rugby sessions for boys and girls aged from 7 to 12 are held at our superb Trentham Fields ground each Sunday morning from 10.15 a.m. until 11.30 a.m. on the Artificial Turf Pitch. In addition, a spin off group of 10, 11 and 12 year old boys and girls are also involved in contact rugby. This group follows on from the Sunday morning tag session, from 11.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m. and also meets on Wednesday evenings from 07.30 p.m. until 08.30 p.m.
Longton Rugby is committed to achieving the RFU's Mini and Youth Seal of Approval accreditation, and junior coaching is undertaken by suitably qualified, CRB checked personnel.
Longton Rugby is proud to be a Club that believes in fairness and equality, where all our Junior players are given opportunities to train and play matches.
If your child is interested in playing for Longton Rugby, just turn up on a Wednesday or a Sunday, and speak to one of the coaches or officials.
