Seconds

This promises to be a very exciting season for everyone at Longton Rugby with the new coaching and management set up and the positive mood around the Club.

Longton Rugby's 2nd team should have a very strong squad of players to choose from with a blend of up and coming youngsters, established players and a few of the older brigade for good measure!

The Seconds did really well in 2008/9, coming second in Merit League A, and they will be hoping to go one better during 2009/10.

Gareth Edwards, Second Team Captain is confident that the team will do well commenting "We have a great mix of players in all positions and as we had such a strong 3rd team last season, I expect to see many of those player staking a claim to start with the 2nds this year."

Longton Rugby recognises that the Second Team are a massive part of the club, and Tony Wheat, Director of Rugby, comments "We hope to do all we can to ensure that this season sees the Seconds triumphant on the field and putting the pressure on the 1st team for starting places."
