Lichfield Vets 76 v 0 Thirds

Travelling to Lichfield with only 14 players was always going to be difficult, especially to play the Vets early on in the season, with numerous county and ex-1st XV players as usual Lichfield dominated from the kick off.

Conceding 12 tries (8 converted) there were few good points for a lacklustre Longton XV, special mention to Andy Quimby and Tom Machin for 2 try saving tackles, and starting the game with two 18 year old inexperienced props, Ben Evans & John Sargent to ensure there were contested scrums.

Hopefully the 3rds will have an easier game against Trentham 2nd XV next week and put more effort into the game.
