Rugby is a game that helps children understand Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Here at Longton Rugby Club we have a Mini & Junior Section which includes boys and girls from school years 2 to 11.
We also have a rugby group for reception and year 1 children.
We offer all children aged 4-15, free taster training sessions starting at any time during our season which runs from early August to late May.
The Section has been accredited with the RFU’s prestigious Seal of Approval and we have strong policies in place for Child Protection and Safety, the most important of which can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
We currently have around 170 children, of various ability levels, and new faces are always welcome at our extensive Trentham Fields location. The section is supported by a strong coaching and committee set-up, but as we develop and grow, we always welcome new volunteers. All our volunteers are DBS checked and receive appropriate training and help to undertake their roles.
We also align ourselves with Rugby Safe which the is RFU’s overarching player safety and wellbeing programme to support clubs, schools, colleges, universities and participants at all levels of the game. See the link below for more details.
Training times are Sunday from 10.30 am and when appropriate to age group Wednesday from 6.30 pm

Alternatively, why not come down to Trentham Fields on a Sunday between 10am and 12pm, to have a chat and a look around.
There’s always a warm welcome waiting at Longton Rugby.
